Accomplished Entrepreneur and Multi-Disciplined Leader Claire Gruppo

A reputable leader in the finance industry, Claire Gruppo serves as the senior managing director at Terra Nova Capital Partners in New York. Through the mid-sized investment bank, she and her team predominantly handle equity and debt offerings, along with merchant banking services. In addition, Claire Gruppo is the head of mergers and acquisitions at the bank and has been steadily working toward building out the bank’s M&A practice.

Ms. Gruppo began her career shortly after graduating from Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in English and theater. She joined Holt, Rinehart & Winston in New York as assistant editor and held this position for 2 years. During this time, she wrote summaries of books submitted to the publishing company, built relationships with agents and authors, and coordinated on the marketing plan for newly published titles. Mr. Gruppo’s involvement in publishing continued for several more years as the managing editor of Diversion Magazine and Savvy Magazine.

Ms. Gruppo then took positions as vice president at Diversion Communications and American Express. She oversaw publishing operations at the two companies, along with overseeing marketing divisions, diversification efforts, and acquisitions. For a brief period, Ms. Gruppo was also the president of Special Interest Video. She then became the co-founder, CEO, and managing director at GLC Partners, which Terra Nova Capital Partners ultimately merged with.
